The Mission of Economic Opportunity Studies
Our mission is to provide support for Community Action Agencies, community-based organizations, and the private and/or government organizations that are their partners in expanding economic opportunity for all. EOS supports their initiatives that change communities and improve the well-being of low- and moderate-income families and individuals; we offer research and analysis that helps them identify, develop and manage new opportunities to mobilize and focus resources.
We also support our partners’ strategies to measure and build upon the results of their work.
EOS is a tax exempt charitable organization
Economic Opportunity Studies, Inc. offers analysis, training, and evaluation to support organizations that foster the well-being of individuals and families and provide them and their communities with economic opportunities they need to become more self-sufficient.
One E.O.S. specialty is identifying opportunities for achieving more fair access to affordable energy services, and sustainable community development. We are supporting Weatherization agencies’ development as they grow to meet the Recovery Act goals. Our resources also support local and state advocates and policy makers in making essential commodities affordable for all.
We also have expertise in practices that develop and strengthen the planning, management and information systems of Community Action Agencies. Those include tools for designing evaluation and results measurement systems that are appropriate to the scale and purpose of community-based programs.
The Recovery Act Weatherization Leveraged Partnerships and Performance Assistance Project
Economic Opportunity Studies has been awarded a grant from the Department of Energy to deliver the Recovery Act Weatherization Leveraged Partnerships and Performance Assistance Project. The funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) resources will allow EOS to deliver two related projects, providing services to the nationwide network of agencies delivering the Weatherization Assistance Program (W.A.P.).
