This week brings funding decisions affecting WAP’s capacity to persist, improve and leverage partnerships. The 2013 state allocations can be viewed here. The Department reprogrammed over $65 million from other uses to supplement the inadequate Continuing Resolution allocation and provided $137.9 million total. House and Senate Appropriations Committees are advancing very different 2014 funding Bills to their respective chambers tomorrow (House) and Thursday (Senate). The draft Bills and other figures are compared in the following table (in million $$):

Learn about DOE’s NEW Multifamily Weatherization Tools
Join our FREE webinar on July 11, 2013 at 2pm EST to learn about DOE’s new multifamily weatherization tools from Jennifer Somers, Senior Policy Advisor and DOE Team Lead for Training and Technical Assistance. DOE has now developed a suite of tools and resources to assure that the WAP network retrofits this housing stock using consistent and successful methodology. Session topics will include:
- The Standard Work Specifications for Multifamily Energy Upgrades
- Technical Guidelines for Multifamily Building Energy Audits
- MulTEA: The Multifamily Tool for Energy Audits
- The Job Task Analyses for Multifamily Home Energy Professionals
EOS’ Leveraged Partnerships Project is helping disseminate these tools to assist weatherizers’ search for new resources by maintaining their competitive advantage in the industry’s skills and tools. This interactive session focuses on how to use them as well as on DOE’S deployment plan for the tools. Ample time will be allotted for questions and dialogue. DOE ‘s online tool for the Standard Work Specifications (SWS) is available. While DOE strongly encourages their adoption- the SWS, like worker Home Energy Professional certifications, are not a DOE requirement in the 2013 funding cycle.
